New year New Collaboration

Late last year we were approached by the talented people of  Yellow Belly Beer in Wexford to help work on a new 0% ABV craft soda for release January 2018! Having admired what they do for a long time we jumped at the chance to be part of something exciting and so new to the Irish market. Never before has and Irish brewery produced a non alcoholic craft drink.

Designated Diver Craft Soda

After a few weeks of back and forth on the recipe with Yellow Belly's head brewer Declan , we developed a fresh and fruity pear and lemon soda dry-hopped with Citra and Huell Melon hops. And we have to say the result is delicious - the perfect balance of hopped fruitiness and lemon tartness, with just the right amount of fizz!

Designated Diver Label

Packaged in a vibrant 330ml cans designed by Yellow Belly's super talented award winning in-house designer Paul Reck starring the 'Designated Diver', it's hard to miss on shelves. Pick up a few cans in Yellow Belly's usual stockists. And if you can't find it, drop us a line to hello@blackcastledrinks.com and we'll put you in the right direction.

And please let us know what you think of it! Tweet @_BlackCastle_

Beatyard Music Festival

This summer we rocked up to the brilliant festival by the sea Beatyard in Dun Laoghaire. Now in it's second year, the team from Bodytonic Music group put together a great festival over the two days, which not only included brilliant acts, but also a interesting, high quality line up of food and drink stalls!

BlackCastle

While Bony M to the Rubberbandits to George Clinton played on the main stage, the festival goers had plenty of great Irish food and drink to keep their energy levels up. Our Black Castle soda bar was in great company, with Strong Roots sweet potato fries beside us, to the talented Ice Cream team from Artic Stone, to the ladies from The Cool Beans Co. plus burgers from Box Burger and Pitt Bros BBQ there was something for everyone!

Looking forward to next year already!
